Dr. Matthew Bryan
Advancing LGBTQ+ Health With Compassion and Advocacy
Dr. Matt Bryan has been a trusted provider of LGBTQ+ primary care in Salt Lake City since 2015, and in Fall 2023 he brought his experience and passion to UAF Legacy Health, a newly established community-based clinic dedicated to affirming healthcare for LGBTQ+ patients. From the very beginning of his medical career, Dr. Bryan has been driven by a commitment to closing healthcare gaps and improving outcomes for LGBTQ+ individuals. He has long recognized the challenges the community faces—lower rates of cancer screenings, higher rates of mental health struggles, frequent experiences of mistreatment in the medical system, and reduced access to quality care—and has dedicated his practice to addressing these disparities head-on.
During his time as Associate Medical Director of LGBTQ+ Health at Intermountain Health, Dr. Bryan helped expand access to affirming healthcare and raised the standard of care for LGBTQ+ patients, earning both an outstanding record of patient satisfaction and deep trust within the community. His leadership, combined with his compassionate approach to medicine, has allowed him to create spaces where patients feel seen, respected, and cared for.
At UAF Legacy Health, Dr. Bryan continues this mission by offering comprehensive care that prioritizes both the unique health needs of LGBTQ+ individuals—such as HIV care, PrEP and PEP, STI screening and treatment, and gender-affirming hormone therapy—as well as the full spectrum of primary care services. His work is guided by a clear purpose: to reduce inequities, remove barriers, and ensure that LGBTQ+ people in Salt Lake City and beyond have access to the quality healthcare they deserve.
Outside of his professional role, Dr. Bryan lives in Salt Lake City with his husband and their two daughters. His life reflects the same values he brings to his practice: advocacy, inclusivity, and a belief in the power of community.
